Course Objectives:

To guide the students about how to build and maintain a commercial Web site.

To introduce the underlying technology and nature of the Internet, and its exploitation in enterprise information systems.

To provide an awareness of the considerations behind the technologies for World Wide Web.

Course Description:
Web Design and development course introduces basic methods for the creation, design and development of user-centered internet web sites using the XHTML language in Dreamweaver and the Flash application for animation and interactivity. Students will learn the basic techniques, tools and processes used to construct a well-designed and effective web site while keeping the site’s users in mind. Students will learn and demonstrate these concepts through exercises and a term project. An emphasis is placed on learning how to keep abreast of current issues in the field through an overview of current and related internet technologies. The overall focus of this course is the application of design and development concepts and principles. These will include pedagogical, technological, organizational, and ethical issues related to the design, and development.

- Basic Concepts & Site Evaluation
- Site Design and layout using Dreamweaver
- Plan and Build a Website with Sound & Animation using Flash and scripting
Course outcomes:
Upon finishing this course, the students should have:

Assessment Strategy:
Students will be assessed in this course based on a set of exams, quizzes and practical parts of it.
